Frequently asked questions

Answers about Trust Scores, website checks, owner verification, reviews and report corrections.

Is a high Trust Score a guarantee of safety?

No. It means the currently available signals are strong. It cannot guarantee future behaviour, every transaction or every page on a website.

Why can a secure website still have low transparency?

HTTPS protects the connection. It does not prove who operates the website. Missing company, contact, return or policy information can therefore reduce Transparency.

Does Web Safety Index buy from online stores?

No. The assessment does not place an order, enter payment data or confirm stock. Store Protection evaluates visible purchasing and customer-protection signals.

How quickly does a new report appear?

After a successful assessment, the report is stored in the public directory and linked from recent activity immediately.

Can a website owner request verification?

Yes. The owner can submit a domain-email, DNS or document verification request from the report page. Never send account passwords.

How are customer reviews handled?

Reviews enter a moderation queue. Spam, personal data, threats and unsupported allegations can be rejected.

Why did a score change?

A new assessment may detect changed certificates, headers, policies, availability or community evidence. The report date and history provide context.

How do I report incorrect information?

Use Report a concern on the website report or email [email protected] with the domain and verifiable correction.
